Salima joined Anglo American in 2008 and is currently responsible for developing, creating and deploying the strategic vision to strengthen the organization's capabilities to ensure it has the talent to meet current and future business needs. Key focus is upon establishing talent acquisition programs that positively strengthen the organization's capabilities in attracting, assessing, selecting and on- boarding the right talent in the right place at the right time.

·         Leading atransformational multi-million dollar programme working with multiple stakeholders to digitally enable a global end-to-end hiring and onboarding process with a focus on People and Organisation Design, Process, Technology and Brand.

·         Responsible for the creation, implementation and performance of a global talent acquisition centre of expertise, internal talent acquisition operations team and implementing an RPO.

·         Optimising each stage of the resourcing process and implementing integrated world class technologies whilst keeping a candidate and hiring manager centric approach.

·         Leading the development and implementation of a newly defined EVP.

·         Leading talent acquisition external supplier selection, negotiations and business justification.

 Previously Salima spent over 8 years within Anglo American’s Marketing Business Unit globally as the Head of HR where she defined and established the People purpose, goal and strategy to ensure a talented, diverse, capable and highly engaged collaborative team. Focused on achieving the evolving business objectives and driving an agile, innovative and high performing culture.

With over 20 years HR experience working in Anglo American and BP, Salima has worked across a wide range of HR disciplines and for a variety of business areas: from Marketing, Safety & Sustainable Development, Asset Optimisation, Capital Projects across all areas of the business value chain from Exploration & Production to Refining & Marketing, Supply & Trading.
